2018 Sandalford Winemakers Merlot
This is another one of those easy drinking, moreish wines. It’s all about the fruit – plums and blackberry conserve, with savoury spices on the end. Its soft and juicy and before you know it, the bottle will be all gone. Don’t wait, drink it now.

Winemaker Notes
Usual stuff here … Ben (with some help) picked it, then Troy and Greg crushed it into
the fermenter. Troy rehydrated the yeast and then it was fermented. It was on skins
for about a week before being pressed to separate the wine and the skins. The wine
was then left for a period of time to mature before blending and bottling.

Tasting Note
The Winemakers Range is all about delivering quite simply the best Western
Australian wine at the best price. These wines are typically a blend of both the
Margaret River and Swan Valley regions. The riper, richer notes from the Swan Valley
compliment the cooler climate, elegant and sophisticated characters from Margaret
River. These wines are all about balance, harmony and drinkability without burning a
hole in your purse or wallet! So go on, have a crack and let us know the outcome! As
always, enjoy in moderation.
Vintage Conditions
Vineyard Notes
The 2018 vintage was a return to the fantastic conditions that WA is known for. The
preceding winter and early spring rainfall provided a good base of ground water for
the vines to thrive. November was warm and dry, setting up the vines perfectly
through flowering and fruit set. An extended, dry and warm summer through to the
end of picking in mid-April, produced outstanding fruit to make wine from. All grapes
harvested this season are of exceptional quality and showing great varietal
characteristics.
