The palate ripples with rich, ripe berries, stewed plums, star anise and olive tapenade overlaid with savoury spice and cedar notes. The intense flavours are in balance with the satin like tannin texture, finishing with great length. A wine that captures a sense of place and its Swan Valley origin.

Winemaker Notes
Estate grown old vine Shiraz was handpicked then de-stemmed to small 5 tonne open fermenters, which also included 10% whole bunch fruit. Following a three-day cold soak, the onset of fermentation began spontaneously and lasted for 9 days, then pressed to tank at completion. The wine was briefly settled before transferring to French oak barriques (10% new) for Malolactic Fermentation. Following 14 months maturation in these barrels, the wine was blended and filtered for bottling.
This wine has been held in bottle for two years before release, and whilst drinking well in its youth, will reward careful cellaring over the next 10 years. Decanting is recommended before serving.

Vintage Conditions
Vineyard Notes
2022 was dry and hot. The preceding winter and spring rainfall were above average and provided ample ground moisture for the vines to cope with the heat extremes of the summer. Fruit ripened to plan and was harvested with ripe, fresh flavours.
